The 3rd Annual Circle of Fathers weekend celebrated thirty fathers from the southeast for the outstanding contributions to their families and their communities. Among those honored were gospel rapper Travis “T-Dogg” Gammage and radio personality “Rick Party.”
Father of Travyon Martin, Tracy Martin, spoke to the fathers that evening and asked that they each support one another and love on one another. In the long-run, as dads embark upon building the Circle of Fathers, having a positive support system is critical to the success of the program.
NAACP Image Award Winner Ed Gordon spoke to a room of men during the 3rd Annual Circle of Fathers event hosted by the Trayvon Martin Foundationthis weekend.
During his keynote address he reminded fathers that fatherhood was a privilege that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Expounding on his relationship with his daughter, he encouraged fathers to be the protectors of their families.
Actress Tichina Arnold made a surprise visit and spoke during the afternoon panel discussion. Known for her starring roles on Martin and Everybody Hates Chris, the actress closed her message singing the gospel hymn, “To God Be The Glory.”
